We live in a world of hate and violence, countries build walls around themselves and show little to no trust of certain countries. Violence only breeds more violence, more suffering, more resentment and hatred. We could live in a world free of war and violence, no need for weapons.
We need to encourage pacifism, we are not Americans, or British, Australians, no we are humans and we are together in this world. We need to learn to coexist without such distrust of each other.
"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war" -Albert Einstein
War is a horrible thing, we need to eliminate it forever. |

| You seem to have the right intention, but this idea isn't plausible. A principle of game theory that each player will act in his/her own self-interest. Countries behave the same way. The plain truth is, we CAN'T trust each other, we have to speak softly and carry a big stick to prevent from being invaded. We try to prevent war whenever possible. |

@Pokemonmas That's a horrible way to live, we could work to destroy all weapons, end all conflicts and bring world peace about the land. |

@Haerdune In theory, they could do it, but they shouldn't. For one thing, people may either keep some weapons in secret or create new ones and store them discreetly. Criminals would profit off of the lack of weapons and gain many new clients who will pay well to gain some weaponry under the counter. |

Easier said than done.
Firstly, you'd need total global cooperation in order to do it (that's over 200 different governments you'd need to convince). And, even if you were to manage mass demilitarization on a global scale, what then? Countries with civil strife would still need a way to maintain order, and there would still be unrest between nations.
A world at peace would be a great thing, but there will always be problems. |

"Peace is that time in history when everyone is reloading" - Thomas Jefferson
Two quotes. I'm not 100% sure about that second one. |

Then one country will militarize and conquer everyone. You can't stop it because you are not armed.
Please don't say they shouldn't, because I don't care about what should and shouldn't happen. I care about what will happen |

@Dralin In the end, we have our differences but we can all agree on a few things, if we all put aside our differences and put faith and friendship in our fellow men and women, we wouldn't need weapons. Our world could be free and beautiful, but we need to make some changes, weapons for one thing. |

| You have to have faith that humans all can agree that they strive for happiness, but the path to evil can be paved with good intentions, but if we become too rationalist we can lose our conscience and destroy ourselves in a big fiery ball of pollution and war. |

| So what exactly do we do when some guy militarizes and wants power while we are all demilitarized? |

if twelve angry men cant agree on whether to have tuna sandwiches or ham sandwiches for lunch, how can 7 BILLION people agree on anything. |

@Super
War does nothing, all it does is kill, kill and KILL. And then another war happens Then another Another OH! Here is another And Another.
So no, war doesn't bring peace, it brings death. |

| Militarism brings pain, pain to the friends and family of fallen men, pain to the enemy, pain to the soul. Wars bring pain and suffering, for BOTH sides, we feel we have to show off our armies to preserve peace, that is not how peace works. |
