| We don't ever use it in our lives. I mean, I get taking english and math and science, but really? History? We learn it so we can teach it, so we can learn it, so we can teach it.....etc |

I personally think it should be optional after 8th (High School) But it's to inform everybody about the history of the world so we aren't all complete idiots, and so history doesn't repeat itself.
how about no |

Because History is the only reliable source of information on the past.
According to History channel, JFK was assassinated by a large left buttock that was genetically modified. PRETTY RELIABLE! |

| Honestly it should be optional, I am going to be a Special Education teacher and would never ever use any crap about the Wars , because honestly stuff happens and no one cares , ya it made the world what it is today but there is a lot of underlying causes no one will ever care about... |

Also.
The only way the future would be aware of 9/11 is those stupid conspiracies.
Yeah, the future would be really, really, stupid |

| I am pretty sure without history you wouldn't be dull enough not to know what 9/11 is. Its common knowledge. Also I think it should be optional due to the fact that I have to take a 7th hour ASL class because History is in the way, and I need ASL to work with special needs kids but not Holocaust facts |

| We aren't learning anything from our past because we are still at war. My friends dad came back from Iraq, and the things they are doing over their to the civilians would make you sick, I say we get most of our soldiers out of there and keep like 1000 people stationed there to do mandatory stuff, but Most of our soldiers there are going bat nuts crazy and killing innocent children |

I agree with those who say we learn it to make sure that history doesn't repeat itself, but there are also lots of important things we can learn from texts of ancient scholars and philosophers.
