Chances are you know what a fake title game is. It's one where the creator makes it look like it's something that it's not, to unfairly get visits. These games disappoint and irritate many users, and I am proposing 5 suggestions to stop them, and NO MODERATION IS REQUIRED.
1. Remove image thumbnails altogether
Their only purpose is to make a game look better than it actually is (an act of deception) or to aid in fake title games. Either way, they do more harm than good, and should be removed altogether. Videos are fine, because they are harder to fake and provide a sense of what the game is like.
2. Creator only gets a ticket after 5 minutes (credit to GreenMasterJake for this idea)
At fake title games, most people leave shortly after, because they discover it is not what they expected it to be. To hinder the spread of fake title games, the creator should only get 1 ticket if the user stays for more than 5 minutes.
3. Comments cannot be disabled on games
Comments on games should not be able to be disabled. Disabling comments is a way to hide the fact that a game is a fake title one. This does not apply to catalog items. Even if spam increases, the pros outweigh the cons.
4. Title can only be changed 4 times a month (credit to mike12833 for this idea)
Many fake title game creators do what is called "bait and switch," once the game is on the front page they change the title frequently to attract more people to the place. A limit on the amount of times the name can be changed would help this.
5. Give people the option to report a game as a fake title one (this WOULD require moderation, though)
Next to the 'play' button on every game, there should be a button saying "Was this game not what you expected? Read more about fake title games and report it if necessary." There would be a separate button to report it as a fake title game, that way those reports would be sent to NobleDragon, who is in charge of taking down fake title games.
I do not take credit for any of these ideas, except #5. The others I have seen around, compiled them into 1 thread, and revised them.
Support? Great! Please leave a reply so more people will see the thread. Don't support? Please tell me why.
Thanks for reading. |

i have a suggestion..
to rename a game/place people should need to spend a bit of robux, to make them pay would really make them think twice about renaming it to try get visits..
add this with the no ticket unless they been there for 5 mins and it would lower the amount of fake title games drastically as they would hardly gain enough tix for them to use personally let alone to change the name a second time as 99% of players dont stay in a game if its not what they expect for more than a minute |

Sorry, but it's not going to happen.

That seems fair enough.

Not going to happen either. If you've seen clan forts, you'll know random butthurt people spam the comments with flames and insults.

So I can't change the version number in my name? Can't change what stage it's in? No, that's not going to happen.

| First of all, great ideas. The only problem is number one. Thumbnails are great was to attract people to your game and make it look cool. Would you rather see a pile of bricks in the cover of your game or a cool logo? Also because you can tell right away if a game is fake number two depurposes one. |

@mams
Image thumbnails don't actually DO anything besides disguise a place or falsely glorify it.
@billoco
I said 4 times a month, not once every 4 months. Maybe it could be a limit of once every 3 days, but a time long enough to hinder bait and switch scams. |

Please explain your reasoning. As I said, the harm they do outweighs the benefit of them. |

I have a suggestion as well.
Dust off the banhammer and put it into action.
I've been saying this for so long. Unless you start giving out month-long bans or perma-bans, people will keep breaking the rules, because 1 day is nothing, and everyone has an alternate account.

@Velociraptor
Comments shouldn't be able to be disabled on games at all. I don't see why they have the option. All that does is hide any opposition to it. |

@GreenMasterJake
From a game player's perspective, thumbnails are useless. All they do is make a game look better than it actually is. |

@accessible I think that thumbnails were meant to make a place look more professional, if we use all the other ideas you mentioned (especially number 2) then we won't need to remove thumbnails.
Here's some examples of places that use thumbnails to look professional:
