Hello again! In the past, I created a sword fighting guide, which eventually turned out to be a failure of sorts. In response to this, I have made a revised, perfected, new guide. If you would like to view the original post, follow this link: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=88874456
Note: If you do not find this post useful, please don’t put pointless replies to this thread. Keep the forums clean. =)
To start off, I would like to state that there are 3 component fighting styles, and many other hybrid styles, to choose from. Each with various moves to learn. It is your decision which fighting style you prefer, and whether or not you plan to further your training after learning one fighting style. Some prefer to use an undefined fighting style or hybrid fighting styles, this is perfectly normal. Another thing: in swordfighting, you do not have to stick to these moves or classes, this is only a suggestive guide.
1) Berserker - Berserkers are common in the world of Robloxia, they make up more than 50% of the Robloxian sword-fighters. This style is simple, and it is the classic style of sword fighting. Berserkers use classic camera view, they specialize in mass sword fights, and focus more on offense than defense. 2) Rogue - You could say that rogues are the opposite of berserkers, but they are quite similar in retrospect. Although rogues rely more on stealth than all other styles, rogues focus more on offense than defense, likewise to berserkers. Rogues are compatible with moonwalk, mouse-lock, and classic sword fighting. Rogues tend to stay out of the chaos, and scavenge the left over fighters from the heated battle. Important note: Rogues are more on the scavenger side rather than fighters. 3) Warrior – Warrior is an all-round style. Each warrior is unique in his own way. I know what you're thinking, "i bet warrior focuses on more of defense than offense!" This is absolutely wrong. In truth, no fighting styles focus more on defense than offense, because sword fighting provides no way of defense. Warriors tend to blend defense and offense, they are almost impossible to beat, but are very bad at bulk fights and a hard style to master.
Important note: Defense has no place in swordfighting, one cannot block another’s sword with theirs in ROBLOX. When I say defense, I mean it in the context of evasion, dodging. ~Berserker~ ------------- 1) slow side-swing- this move is simple: using classic, hold right click. This allows you to move the camera, while still using classic. Now, still holding right click, pick a target. Move your mouse to the right side of the target, so if you were to head straight, you would miss by a little. Now charge forward (W key), then when you are diagonal to your target, glide your mouse to the left, indulging the sword inside your target. This requires you to hold right click the duration of the move. 2) fast side-swing- this move is still simple: remember to always hold right click! Unlike the previous move, which required only the mouse and one key, this move requires the mouse and two keys. Follow the prior steps: mouse position to the right of target, and use the W key to charge forward. This time, when you are diagonal to your opponent, do not glide the mouse, but instead: keep holding W and A, then eventually releasing W, and completely holding A. This provides a quick flicking motion, of which you can evade after you perform. 3) Spin- This move is notorious around ROBLOX. Although ti may seem difficult at first, it is quite useful in the latter. Remember to always hold right click! As you approach your opponent (remember the position of the mouse will always be to the right of the target), charge with W. Once you are diagonal with the opponent, do not glide the mouse, but instead: while holding W, hold A at the same time. Then eventually releasing W, hold A completely. After holding a completely, while still holding A, hold S. After releasing A and completely holding S, while still holding S, start holding D. Once S is completely released, finish the move with the transition from D to W, and repeat the trick if necessary. This is quite useful, but ONLY when it is mastered and performed quickly. Practice) Visit -Sword Fight on the Heights: Original-, a game by Shedletsky. This game offers a number of bulk fights, and once you go there on a regular basis, you can become very skilled. ---Don't be afraid to lose, losing battles is what makes you better.- Combos) Perform a fast side-swing, then do a half spin [S->D->W], then quickly transition into a complete spin [W->A->S->D] ~Rogue~ --------- * This move-set does not require classic, or holding right click, but it requires you to use moonwalk. (zoom in all the way).--- btw rogue is easiest to master! :) 1) Back-stab- This move is used both by rogues and warriors, yet used more frequently by rogues. Once you are in moonwalk mode, charge towards an opponent with his/her back turned with the W key and lunge into their torso. Note: sometimes this will not finish the job, but no matter! that's what combos are for! 2) Pivot-stab- This move is a derivative of back-stab, only it is used to back-stab targets facing you. Charge towards the opponent with the W key, then as you both get closer, suddenly hold D as soon as you're somewhat close. Keep in mind that while holding D, you must keep your mouse on the opponent, in this case, glide the mouse left as much as u can so that the cross-hair is on the opponent, this will pivot you around to the back, where you will repeat steps from Back-stab: lunge into his/her back. 3) Imploding Gut Grinder- This move is almost always an instant killer. First, use the pivot technique form the previous move to pivot to the right side of your opponent. Once you are at his/her side, move in and lunge towards his arm and torso, then quickly slide your mouse to the left, eventually ripping the side out of your opponent. Practice) Again, -Sword Fight on the Heights- is a good choice, it provides a great number of "leftovers" from the numerous bulk battles that occur there. Be careful! Don't get caught in a bulk battle. Combos) Previously, when i said the back-stab won't finish the job, i meant that it is a finisher move, and not an instant killer. the prerequisite for back-stab kill would be the Imploding Gut Grinder. Performing the charge or pivot, then facing the opponents back: lunge into his/her torso, then slide your mouse left. This combines the two moves, producing an almost inescapable fate for whoever you fight. ~Warrior~ ---------- ***Due to lack of time and space, the warrior style will have to be learned privately. This is also because the warrior style is very hard to grasp, and requires constant visual demonstration, and simulations of different visual situations. If you would like to learn teh warrior style, PM me, xxQuickSilver, and we can meet up!

"from OP: >"...do not have to follow these guidelines. This is a *suggestive* guide."

I read that part. But the 'suggestion' I am talking about is the suggestion to improve ROBLOX. Which, as far as I can see, is not there, so you posted in the wrong forum.

1) better swordfighters = more competitive community on ROBLOX. competition is good. 2) I had nowhere else to put this guide, and since this seemed to be a suggestive guide, I happened to put it here. If you have a problem, I'm not the one you should be complaining to. |

This forum is to improve ROBLOX, not sword fighting skills.
Before you say anything else;
1. Not everybody reads S&I. 2. This message will not make it globally all over the website 3. Not everyone sword fights, or wants to be competitive.
You should post this somewhere else, where people would be looking for help like this. |

@wilson1212 1. Not everybody reads S&I. 2. This message will not make it globally all over the website 3. Not everyone sword fights, or wants to be competitive.
1) and 2) I understand that, this post was never meant to gain me publicity. 3) This post is for the people who like to sword fight.
one more thing: If you have a problem with me posting here, I'm not the person you should be complaining yo. :)

TL;DR
Use more indentations.
Also, this doesn't belong in Suggestions & Ideas. S&I is ideas for the ROBLOX Admins to implement.
Plus swordfighting is easy, the only weapons in my RPG Battle game are swords. |

@ColorfulBrendon
Like I've said two times already: If you have a problem with where I am posting, I'm not the one you should be complaining to.
I know swordfighting is easy. But if it's that easy to you, why would you bother clicking on this post? |
