Welcome to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment --------------------------------------------- Here is a little background on this regiment.
The U.S. Army's 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR) is arguably the best trained mechanized military unit in the world. The men and women of the 11th ACR currently have the task of training active and reserve units at our home base of Fort Irwin, California. Our primary mission is to act as the Opposing Force (OPFOR) for training units on rotation to the National Training Center (NTC). Blackhorse troopers also have deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. The 11th Cavalry, also known by our nickname of "the Black Horse Regiment," has been on the go since their inception. We have credit for twenty regimental campaigns, earning the regiment's motto of "Allons," which means "let's go."
