[Background]
You've heard of the Sierra Madre Casino. We all have, the legend, the curses. Foolishness about it lying in the middle of the City of the Dead, buried beneath a blood-red cloud. A bright, shining monument luring treasure hunters to their doom.

The world's most famous stars and entertainers were invited to its Grand Opening. An invitation was a sign of... exclusiveness. The opening was supposed to symbolize a road to a brighter future, not just for the world...
But for all who came to its doors. A chance for anyone to begin again.

Except - the Sierra Madre never opened.
The War froze it in time, like a big flashbulb going off.

The Grand Opening - one big ending of humanity.

It's still out there, in the wastes, preserved, just waiting for someone to crack it open. But getting to it. That's not the hard part. It's letting go...


[Story]
You awake in the center of the Sierra Madre, when your vision clears you hear a voice in front of you, but you realize it is no man. It is a Holographic head.
After a long conversation he tells you that you MUST activate BOTH switching stations in "Salida del Sol" and "Puesta del Sol" to gain entry into the "Sierra Madre"...
Oh and that thing on your neck is a bomb, so don't think you can try to leave and get away... Alive.

(Goal 1)

You must go to "Puesta del Sol" and activate the "Puesta del Sol Switching Station" to complete one of the goals... However reaching "Puesta del Sol" will be the easy part... Getting to the switching station will be the hard part as it is filled with the "Ghost People", they will do everything they can to kill you... But thats not the only problem that awaits you in here...

(Goal 2)

And the same for "Salida del Sol" except, this is where your in the "Ghost People" territory, their main hunting grounds... There is many traps in this part, hidden and deadly... But the Cloud in here is thick, making it through this part is most difficult with all the traps, Ghost People and the Cloud... It will take much skill to get through here alive....

(Goal 3)

Leave "Salida del Sol" and go back to the Fountain to gather up your supplys/teammates and enter the "Sierra Madre"... (Game ends here for now)

(Just a note, there is NO order in what you have to follow, just make sure you activate them both.)

[Main Goal]

(Human)
Activate BOTH switching stations before the time runs out (60 Mins), and not die. Or just hold out for 60mins... IF you can.

(Ghost People)
Kill all Humans.

[Gameplay]

RPG (sorta)
FPS
Horror
Survival
Infection
Data Persistence (Score, and tools.)


[Fractions]
There are two teams in this game, Humans and Ghost People.

Ghost People (AI/Player)
If you die you become the Living Undead, your goal is to stop and KILL the Humans.
AI's will randomly move around the small map, sees a Human and kills it... Simple thing... But they will fake dieing. Only way to know if one is really dead... See if there limbs are separated... (Same thing for the players)

Pros:
If your HP drops below 15, you fake dieing.
Your quick and deadly.
The Cloud doesn't effect you.

Cons:
Your not silent. Your breathing can be heard, and your voice is amplified through your mask, and you don't jump quite either.
AI's only respawn every 6mins
Your melee weapon only.

Humans (Player Only)
If your alive, your human.

Pros:
You get to play the story, build new weapons and survive.
Your both ranged and melee weapons.
You can upgrade your weapons.
Your more quite then Ghost People.
You get perks.

Cons:
50HP (When your Level 1)
Slowness.
Have to watch Hunger and Thirst levels.
Low damage. (Upgrades make you do more damage)
The Cloud slowly erodes away your health.
Die and become one of the Ghost People.
You can die if your in a Concentrated Cloud longer then 2 minutes.
You can become crippled if your HP is less then 15% (Subject to change)

Players can upgrade BOTH Human and Ghost People perk/skills.
(Subject to change)

[Perk/Skill/XP/LevelChips/Weapon/Materiel]

Your perks WILL rely on your Skill and Level amounts, and you will not be able to buy/craft/disarm somethings if your Skill/Level doesn't meet the required amount. Spend your points wisely.

Guns Skill will determine how good you are with Bullets.

Science Skill will determine how good you are with Energy Weapons/Hacking computers.

Medical Skill will determine how good your are at healing yourself.

Explosive Skill will determine how good you are with explosives.

Repair Skill will determine how good you are at repairing/crafting things.

Survival Skill gives bonuses to ALL other skills, and will also determine what perks you can get AND how many extra HP points your get.

PERKS (Limited, DO NOT SUGGEST, these are for the BETA.)
Runner Perk: 20 Walkspeed to start you off, sadly you lose 8 scrap item slots.

Heavy lifter Perk!: You lose 4 walkspeed but can carry 12 more scrap item slots AND get 15+ extra HP points.

Medic! Perk: 10+ to your Medical Skill.

Gunslinger Perk: 10+ to your Guns Skill

Pepto Bismol Perk: 5+ Skill points to BOTH Survival and Medical Skills. (No more food poisoning...)

Lucky 7! Perk: This perk allows you to make fake Sierra Madre chips using
1 Fission battery and 2 Scrap metals.

Levels unlock new recipes for crafting, and unlock new perks you can get.
XP is how you level up. You gain XP by wining, disarming traps, killing and crafting. Oh and you also get 5 XP for every 5 minutes you stay alive.

Now one of the most IMPORTANT things: Currency. The currency in this game are Chips, Sierra Madre chips, these allow you to buy ammo, food, water and other things, THESE are hard to find in a full sever... You can also make these... If you know how. (Requires the Lucky 7! Perk)

There is NO weight limit on how much you can carry, instead there is an object limit. You can carry 2 weapons, 4 crafted weapons, 20 scrap items and 8 mags.

Ammo is limited, and hard to find for some guns, while melee weapons are easy to find. Crafting ammo/weapons might be a better idea, IF you know what your doing.
Crafting is also limited by your Skill levels.

You can ONLY craft at the Crafting tables that are somewhere in the Villa.

You can also buy these materials from the Vending Machines throughout the Villa.

[Hazards]

Being outside will slowly erode your HP.

Concentrated Cloud (If your in here for more then two minutes, your dead.)

Speakers, if you hear a beeping... you better run or your head will explode from that necktie your wearing. (Faster beeping means REALLY close to death, Speakers can be destroyed)

Falling (I will later have this)

Trying to leave the Villa. (Your head is a fireball!)

Ghost People, maker sure there dead before you turn your back...

Grenade traps (If your caught in this, your too late to run.)

Bear traps (Hard to see, they blend in very well.)

Falling beams (-25HP if you set this off and it hits you.)

Rigged shotgun (Disarm and receive a shotgun and 2 rounds.)

[Summary]

The Infection style game on a large map, longer timer, crafting, survival, FPS AND most importantly, a story. Yes I know, not much of the player part, but that's to add the effect of "What happen here, where is everyone" that I'm going after.

Now I know I left out the food and medical stuff, feel free to add them if you want... But there be in this game even though their not listed.

First update :
Redid the map, looks better,
Redid all of the fountains, looks more like a real fountain(s)
Uploaded a heck of an amount of decals for the doors/windows/graffiti, don't worry their HD.
Created a template script for the Knife Spear.
Working on FPS arms, yes arsm that you can see in-game.

Created the Villa Radio(s) and Loud Speaker(s)
Re-made the Reloading Bench.
Uploaded the Knife Spear for testing.

You might see me in-game building the game, if your lucky.

phoniex, I actually DO know how.
I failed this once in the past before I could really script, used a lot of free models before... so I pretty much gutted this place removed EVERY script, and rescripted what I can, the game script I had before was a modified version of the Infection game, its actually quite simple when you remove all the un-need cr@p that the script has.
(No I'm not going to use the Infection game's script(s), I'm scripting my own.)

Q.) "How does this game work in terms of wining?" (you who is reading)
A.) So let me give you an example of how this works in terms of wining :

IN Workspace, there is 4 BoolValues each one if for the objective and one end game value, once all four Values have become "True" then the game ends,
However, should the Human team player amount number reaches below 1, the game ends too.

And for terms as paying out the player every five mins he/she is alive on the human team? Simple, make a script that checks for what team the player is on and pay out the set amount.

Q. ) "So your using free models right now in this game? " (you who is reading)
A.) Nope, I'm scripting everything here by myself or with the help of RAC.

Q.) "I see you have a lot of genres in this game"
A.) Yes, I do but its cause the game involves aspects from each and everyone of them, no I can't tell you what the FPS genre has in store for the player.

Seems interesting, I'll definitely be checking it out once it's finished.

I liked the actual DLC itself, so indeed it will be interesting.

A.) Slight difference in the map design for gaming reasons...
However, I will make it near exact just might have to cut areas out so the Ghost People can choke the Humans into a choke points, making it harder for the Humans to complete the objectives.

The map is intended though to send the same message to the players as the real map does to players playing the DLC, "How?" simple, remember the random "Treasure's all mine (cussword)" signs all over the map? yeah those will be here to send the same message... just without the language.. really no need for that..

I'm making sure though that the map is extremely well built, but not over-usage of parts and making sure that the decals I'm using are HD...

Current progress : Villa is looking real!

It seems as there is lots of hazards for humans.

How exactly would this be balanced?
I see this is highly in favor for the Living Undead.

@Zebra: Ghost People die a lot easier, I would imagine, as humans have guns while the Ghost People carry around knife spears.

BTW, don't spoil anything on this thread, this is the only DLC I haven't finished. :L

Not sure, if anyone has actually played the DLC or not..
But the humans are OPed, we can ourselves, shoot guns, make bombs... while they can only get close and attack for behind... now they are pretty much tankers... but still..
Their mainly melee, and only one class for Ranged weaponry..

And top that off... Humans can sneak, Ghosts cant...

Any other "questions"?

I played the DLC like a long time ago.
It was torture playing it on the console version though.

Well, I guess it is pretty even then.
As long as you find a legit way to balance the teams out evenly, and it's fun to play either of them, this is a game Id'll love to play.

My character is level 33, and I'm strongly aimed towards ranged rifle and one handed gun combat, energy too. Ghost people takes 8-10 shots for me to kill, but it's a lot easier with Dog too. Still, they do a pretty large amount of DMG. Will they have ways to regen health?

Well... there's no way to really "balance" the teams... Since the humans will be able to PvP over items, and as the legend goes, Sierra Madre has made people turn on each other... So throwing PvPing will make the game extremely hard to "balance" but, PvPing may not be added really... I would like to have it in at some point just to make the game more of a challenge..

Infection and Outbreak Survival are two games that do NOT have balanced teams, I find the two very hard and very fun to play. If I made the humans balanced with the ghost people then no one would play.

same with over powering the Ghosts... in my eyes I see the teams somewhat "balanced" ... Humans can upgrade and heal, but are slow and have alot of hazards to over come.

Vs the Ghost People who are Tankers, high health but a bit sluggish at times, and don't get affected by hunger/thirst or the Cloud, but they are loud and have mostly melee weapons.

Advantage(s) the Ghost People have over the Humans are, well as listed before they aren't effected by hunger, thirst or the Cloud, and can jump longer distances then the Humans, and because of their jumping abilities they could jump around a corner and get lost for a few seconds then come out of no where and attack a Human and kill a human very quickly.

Humans, don't have many advantages... Only ones they got are Sneaking, Crafting/Upgrading and Healing..

Humans suffer extreme disadvantages... Food is rare to find, and near impossible to find in a full server, making it even harder to heal...

I'm not sure If I want to add that option.. but now that you asked I kinda think it would only be fair to have that... ONLY way for the Ghost People to heal is to kill a Human, by killing a human depending on the Ghost Skill point amount the player has will effect how much HP a Ghost may receive.

Any other "questions"?

Rescripted the whole dang thing, finally got it to work :D
I shall post what is new :

Ghost People morphing upon death.
Able to play the game (requires 2+ players) without spawn crashing.
Intro GUI auto skips if you have already seen in once in-game.
Ghost People morph does damage.
Fixed about every frigging error in here for the game scripts, toxic clouds, gui not loading etc..

I finally got this into a playable version, long time wait but still here working on it.
Later today/tomorrow I'll have the toxic clouds only effecting the Ghost People, and hopefully a working gun.

Yes I'm still here working on this, no I didn't quit this.
